Hard to believe we’re near the end of June already. Anyhow, it’s been a great year for TRR so far. Thanks to everyone who participated in or contributed to the very successful Limaland Tour June 16th! Look for recap details and rider survey in the near future.

The summer ride schedule is released into September: Ride Schedule
Please note we are organizing additional rides on Tuesdays and Saturday evenings for reduced speeds and simplified routes (pathway and out-and-back routes usually). If these are rides you are interested in, please make a good effort to attend them with other like-interest riders. There have been many requests for these rides, but if attendance is not good, there’s no point in listing them as club activities. Club rides should be well attended to make a great group riding experience. We will also continue to offer a morning ride on Fridays. See the schedule that John has offered to organize on a weekly basis. Sometimes he’ll post a ride plan. In general, contact John if you want to ride together with others Friday mornings so he knows you are coming.
There have been some questions about weather and rides recently. In the past few months at club meetings we’ve decided that planned routes are allowable to alter if the ride leader is in agreement and winds are in excess of 15 mph. Please keep that in mind and be flexible if needed. Also questions have been raised about other weather issues. If precipitation is likely, club rides are not encouraged. Attendance will probably be low anyhow. Whether that be rain or the more solid white kind of the winter months. The reasons are that it’s not safe for with slippery roads, reduced bike braking effectiveness, more likely to get flats, visibility for motorists is reduced and in general it’s kind of miserable. In the mind of safety, use your best judgement. We have a privilege to ride on public roadways. Make prudent decisions. Riding in severe storms (lightning, hail, 30+ mph wind, etc) is never a good idea.
Hope everyone is having a safe and pleasurable riding season. Stay safe and see you on 2 or 3 wheels!
